The Butler Fire Department currently operates two Dodge Durangos as chief/command vehicles. They are currently driven by the Department Chief (340) and the First Assistant Chief (346).
Each of the vehicles is equipped with both High Band and Low Band radios. The Low Band Radios are on the dispatch frequency and High Bands are on the Police Department's frequency. This allows for communication between agencies, as well as with other Fire Departments and the First Aid Squad.
These two vehicles' main purpose is to arrive on the scene and establish or assume Command. This allows the crews to perform their duties while a Chief can look over the entire scene.
